Varenyki (from the verb to cook), in dialects also pies, is a Ukrainian national dish in the form of boiled unleavened dough and a filling of potatoes, meat, mushrooms, vegetables, fruits, berries and cheese. Dumplings are one of the symbols of Ukrainian national cuisine.
